Abstract

Technology has revolutionized English Language Teaching (ELT) by providing tools that enhance learning and teaching. AI-driven applications, virtual classrooms, and mobile learning make language learning more accessible, flexible, and personalized. Tools like AI chatbots, language learning apps, and virtual reality offer real-time feedback, adaptive learning, and immersive environments that improve students’ speaking, writing, and listening skills. However, challenges remain, including limited access to technology, the need for teacher training, and maintaining human interaction. The future of ELT holds exciting possibilities with AI and the Metaverse, but technology should complement, not replace, traditional teaching methods. Continuous teacher development and curriculum updates are essential to ensure effective integration. Despite challenges, the potential for technology to improve language learning outcomes is significant, making education more engaging, accessible, and effective.
